Ride according to the rules of right-of-way

graphic-modified-naviguez-priorite-asrt
  • When two motorboats approach each other head-on, each must give way on its starboard side.

As with traffic laws, the right-of-way rule applies.

  • The overtaking vessel must give way to the vessel being overtaken.

It may pass on the starboard or port side. The vessel being overtaken must not interfere with the overtaking vessel’s maneuver.

  • A sailboat has the right of way over a motorboat.

The motorboat must alter its course and/or speed.

For safety reasons, it is strongly recommended that all non-motorized activities take place within a 60-meter shoreline zone, with the exception of sailing and fishing.
